The wifey ended up driving me home, even though it wasn’t to the extent of the other night. Good times though – even my wife and daughter enjoyed themselves so don’t think it is all about me all the time people!

We really liked one of the houses we looked at and it ended up being within our range. I won’t say where it is located because I don’t want to give it away, but it was nice. Now let’s hope someone puts an offer on ours soon.

I got a chance to watch the Olympics a lot last night and today. As I said before, I really dig the actual events of the Olympics, even though I hate the opening and closing ceremonies. If you really think about it, winning any type of medal, whether it is gold or silver or bronze, has to be a surreal feeling. To train for how many years and for it to come down to you versus the world (literally), that is amazing. I love seeing the athletes’ emotions and how they break down with so much excitement. I can’t image what that feeling is when the game is over or the event is done with. It truly shows so much patriotism seeing them hoist the country’s flag around their back, being so proud of their own and their fellow teammates’ accomplishments. I love it.

I think I might take the little one up to Steelers training camp this week. She hasn’t been before but then again, she really doesn’t grasp the whole football thing just quite yet. This season I’m sure she will. She has her little Troy jersey that she wears around but that’s the only player she knows (cause of his hair!). She knows that daddy yells at the TV every Sunday watching the games so she has caught on to that! I can honestly say though that I never have said a swear word in front of her, thank you very much. I’m sure a lot of you guys out there can’t say the same!

Well, off to get dinner ready for the two girls in the house. We are cooking out tonight and also having some corn on the cob. Perfect Sunday to do so. I’m looking forward to it, but I need to get my ass off the computer and do it before the wifey makes her way in here!

So until we meet again…

My wife took my daughter to the pool – had a great time swimming and being the good little angel that she is (well, maybe not a complete angel ALL the time, but you get what I’m saying!). When my wife told her it was time to get out and go home, she proceeded to run around the other side of the pool and jump in. Little freaking scary. Granted she had her swimmies on (or whatever the hell those things are called that go on her arms) but it was not a pretty site. My wife had to literally jump back in the pool to get her and the one alarming thing – neither of the lifeguards even hesitated or did a damn thing. Needless to say, last night was not a good night to be around the house. The little one was in a permanent “timeout” all night I think!

Anyone been keeping track of the Olympics? It was pretty damn cool seeing that teenager – Missy Franklin – win the 100-meter backstroke. It is hard to believe she is only going to be a senior in high school this year. What did you do over the summer? Oh just went to London, picked up a gold medal or two and then came home. Nothing major.

I also found myself watching the finals of the women’s archery event the other day. Don’t judge me, I know I have issues but it ended up being VERY exciting. South Korea won for like the 100th straight time and the crowd (for whatever freaking reason) was SO into the final. I didn’t understand it really, but I still ended up watching the damn thing.

Off the wall note of the day – saw a Hooters commercial last night and it was one of those moments that now I am going to be craving their food forever. I love their buffalo chicken sandwich and their curly fries. I haven’t been to a Hooters since a buddy of mine and I went to one just outside of Columbia, S.C. a year and a half ago. NOW I NEED TO FIND ONE SOON!!! Not sure it would be the best daddy judgment to take a 3 year old there, but whatever right.

Until we meet again…

How about Starling Marte’s debut last night for the Pirates! That was awesome. I was listening to the radio a little today and they were already comparing him to Rickey Henderson and Roberto Clemente – two of the best to ever play the game – so I think people are going a little far, but it sure was impressive and a breath of fresh air to see him finally come up and make an impact.

Anyone looking forward to the opening ceremonies for the Olympics? Truthfully I’m not. I don’t like the dog and pony show that they put on. I could do without all the glitz and glamour. I really do enjoy watching the actual games but the opening ceremonies just don’t do it for me. I will buckle down and watch and keep track of the games when they officially begin, but I’m going to pass on the opening activities.

I get to try out my new sprinkler system this weekend to attempt and get my yard to somewhat a shade of green again. It really isn’t a sprinkler system, more of me connecting a couple of hoses to a pair of sprinklers I bought recently for like three bucks each. We shall see how it goes. I’m sure I will get made fun of by the neighbors and even more so my wife. If it works, screw everyone and their expensive sprinkler systems!

One movie that is on that no matter what time of day or what day of the week or what time of the year it is, one movie that I will always watch is Shawshank Redemption. I don’t give a crap if it is two minutes into the movie or two minutes left in the movie, I can’t turn that off. Don’t tell me that you guys don’t do the same damn thing with certain movies. Mine are pretty much Shawshank, A Time To Kill, The Negotiator, Rounders and Hoosiers. Love those flicks and love them even more when they show up on USA Network on a rainy afternoon!

Not really any plans for the night except to put together a new toaster oven I got. That and telling my daughter princess stories before bed pretty much wraps up the week for me! This weekend should be fun though, but I will be back soon to lay it all out.

Stay thirsty, my friends.
